summary:

A filmed series developed by the Engineering and Science Directorate and supported by the JPL Office of the Chief Engineer was a means to capture the expertise and experiences of a select group of individuals who have vastly contributed to the success of lab. These individuals are considered to be World Experts and are selected through a variety of sources such as input from division managers, as well as recommendations from other subject matter experts. The subjects may stretch across engineering, science, technology, project formulation, institutional practices, and mission-specific activities.

process:

Storytelling is a compelling way to express not just the mechanics of how a job is done, but the theology of a how-to perform on the level of a world expert. I directed and produced this series by conducting research and verification on the expert’s background, filming, conducting interviews, as well as editing all the footage together. The resulting videos are used internally as a knowledge and training resource which aligns with specific job roles as part of the training curriculum.

The intake process was an integral aspect to developing each story and assuring that the captured information is technically sound, accurate, and valuable to specific organizations.
