summary:
In 2015, I was asked to participate in a design study for the Mars sample-return mission (MSR) which is a spaceflight mission to collect rock and dust samples on Mars and then return them to Earth. The goal of the study is to design and prototype a mechanism that will collect the sample from Mars and bring it back to Earth. My role was to partake in the design of the interactive interface which displayed how the model would be assembled. My main objective was to create simplified designs so the interface communicated each step in a clear and precise manner.

I was tasked to illustrate the capture system in stages which were used on an interactive website that detailed the design engineering behind the mechanism. Working side by side with a design engineer, I created the visuals to help communicate the team’s engineering objective.
